Ava's first flight

We spent Friday packing up and preparing for our flight to Guangzhou.  Our guide Jenny brought Ava's Chinese passport to our room in the afternoon.  Once we got her passport we were good to go!  We enjoyed our time in Nanchang but we were ready to move on.  We were not comfortable venturing out on our own there.  We were sad to leave Jenny behind.  She made our trip to Ava's province amazing.  We are looking forward to keeping in contact with her.  It was bittersweet leaving Nanchang; we were taking Ava away from where she was born.

In the Nanchang airport we had people staring at us constantly.  It becomes extremely uncomfortable.  People do not just stare for a minute, they stare at you the entire time.  We finally met another American family who happened to also be from Florida.  We sat with them and realized that there baby was from the same SWI as Ava.  They are staying in the same hotel as us in Guangzhou and will be on our flight home.  It was nice to see a friendly face in such an uncomfortable situation.  As we were getting on the plane a man asked me where we were from.  While we were talking another man interupted us and asked me what I paid for "that" as he pointed at Ava.  I was caught completely off guard so I just kept saying no.  He continued to ask me what I paid for her and I continued to say no.  Brian had gone ahead of me so he could get our carry on luggage stowed.  Finally a man behind me told the jerk to stop and leave me alone.  I was so angry but managed to keep my cool since I was holding the baby.

Ava was not to crazy about flying.  She hates when I sit if I am holding her.  So to be stuck on my lap in plane is not high on her favorites list.  She screamed the entire time while we took off.  Our girl is very sweet and has the best personality but she also has one heck of a temper!  She stiffens herself up, turns bright red and screams her little head off.  She fell asleep screaming. A man sitting accross from Brian just stared at us the entire time.  I tried everything to calm her down but she wasnt having it.  So the man just stared and stared.  I just gave him a get over it look because his annoyance was none of our concern.  She slept the entire flight and only cried again once we landed.  I have to say I was surprised at how rude and loud people can be here.  I thought Americans were rude.  I get pushed out of the way like I do not even exist.

Guangzhou seems really nice.  It's nice to be in a city again.  It is suppose ti rain almost the entire week that we will be here but we are gonna make the best of it!
