We have finally moved to the travel department at GWCA

We have finally moved to the travel department at GWCA.  For the past 6 years we have been in the referral department and have seen many referral counselors come and go.  Our newest counselor was very sweet but not very knowledgeable.  We were the first family she ever called to say "its a girl"!  She did a great job but we were very scared she would make mistakes with our file.  So far our travel counselor has been amazing!

We are so thrilled that my Mom will be coming with us to China!!!  She is beyond excited and cannot wait to meet Ava and tour China.  She says traveling to China is something she never thought she would be able to do.  Taking this journey with us is a once in a lifetime experience; we are so happy to share it with her!

Our Visa applications should have been delivered by a courier to the Chinese Embassy today.  Its just another step closer to our baby girl.  After waiting so long, each step in this process feels like such a milestone.

Today we placed an order with Red Thread China in hopes to get updated info and photos of Ava! We bought shoes and socks for the orphanage that cared for Ava in early February. Donations often lead to new photos and info! We also bought Ava's foster family pastry for the upcoming holiday in China and new toys for Ava.

I thought this never ending wait would get easier once we got Ava's referral and photos; I was so wrong!   Seeing her face in her pictures everyday makes us want to get on a plane.  We think about everything we miss each day and how we can't wait to get her home.  Its amazing how much you can love someone you've never met!!
