October 18, 2007 p.m.

Monday we had a concrete slab. Four days later we have the beginning of a house. It's been amazing to see the progress over the last few days. The pics are blurry because I had to use my night vision setting.

Brian went by the house today and was very surprised when he got there. Last night we only had concrete so they got alot done today.

Out on the boat

Saturday we went out with Keith, Angie, Nathan, Josh and Collin for a ride on Keith's boat. It was a beautiful day but the water was really choppy so we we're getting pretty wet. We we're able to see quite a few dolphins. We took a ride out to the Jacksonville zoo. If you arrive by boat it is free to get in, so we walked around for a few minutes.

We have cement! Next up...a frame. It looks small when we are standing in front of it but the house will be 1780 square feet.

We are in the review room!

The CCAA has finished reviewing dossiers registered in August/2006. This means that our dossier is now in the review room. We will be very happy when the CCAA posts that September 2006 is out of the review room. If the CCAA has questions about our dossier it could push our log in date further back or even disqualify us from our adoption. Keep your fingers crossed that we move into the review room without problems. From there we will wait, wait, wait. The rumor is that there may be a slight speed up in the beginning of the year.

My Mom bought Ava this cute piggy bank last week.

September secret buddy gift

We got the cutest set of ladybug pajamas from our buddy yesterday. I love the slippers! I almost bought them at Foxwoods when we we're there in July.

One year anniversary

September 18th marked our one year anniversary of the CCAA recieving our dossier for Ava. We celebrated by going out to dinner...for chinese food of course. The waitress was so nice and spoke to Brian in Chinese all night. It's hard to believe that one year has already gone by. When we began her adoption we figured we would have her home by this fall. Now we will be happy to have her home by the summer of 2009! The picture on the right shows that China has finished processing dossiers that we're logged in before 11-25-05...we we're logged in 9-18-06. We still have 10 months of families ahead of us. Our dossier should be moved into the review room very soon. The CCAA will review our paperwork and will forward any questions about our dossier to our agency. No one wants to get questions from the CCAA so we are hoping that we will breeze through. After our dossier leaves the review room it is placed in the matching room to collect dust until our LID date comes up.

Shopping for Ava

Shopping for Ava makes this never ending wait a little easier for me.

Well, this is where our house will be built. It's hard to believe that the sold sign is ours!! Our lot is on a cul de sac right near the community pool and tot lot.

The front of our house

This is what the front of our house will look like. They are building this house a few lots away from ours.
