"An invisible red thread connects those who are destined to meet regardless of place or circumstances. The thread may stretch or tangle but will never break". Chinese Proverb
Well, this is where our house will be built. It's hard to believe that the sold sign is ours!! Our lot is on a cul de sac right near the community pool and tot lot.
We are living in a apartment until our house is built. Everything is new and clean. We have 3 sliders that open to our screened in patio, which the cats love. The property is located on a closed golf course so there are alot of walking paths and 8 pools to choose from.
I already miss all of my buddies at work in Baltimore. We always had a great time together. On my last day of work they got me a cake and we had a catered lunch. They know how much I hate the Ravens so they made sure the cake and balloons had Ravens on it. They even got me to wear a Ravens shirt that they all signed. I know I will never find another crew like them!!!
We have now been waiting 9 months for Ava. It's hard to believe that we are already creeping up to the one year mark. There is an online site that uses the current wait times to calculate when you will get your referral. Right now it is predicting that we will receive our referral for Ava in May 2009...at the earliest!! My heart sank into my stomach when I saw that date. Recently the CCAAannounced that they have opened all orphanages in China to International adoption. Previously only 1/3 of the orphanages we're able to submit paperwork for the children to be adopted internationally. It's too soon to see how or if this will speed things up any.
My Mom, Michelle, Matthew and Meagan visited us for 5 days in May. We had a great time together! Michelle bought the kids a pool to play in while they we're here which is now Ava's.
My Mom, Michelle, the kids and I spent a day in Lancaster county. We took a train ride through working Amish farms. The scenery was beautiful and the kids loved it. We also visited great Amish shops and train stores.
While everyone was here we also visited the zoo in D.C. We had a great time despite the extremely hot weather and over 3 miles of walking up pretty big hills. Matthew and Meagan we're great and really seemed to have alot of fun!
We took a trip to Shenandoah National Park in Virginia recently. The mountains and views we're beautiful. We always loved taking trips to New Hampshire & Vermont when we lived in R.I. so the Blue Ridge Mountains felt a lot like home.
